Description
A new generation of large tokamaks intended to test the possibility of attaining physical parameters corresponding to ignition are being designed (PLT,TIO,JET). This lecture summarizes bounded plasma studies both on the heating of present tori and on an extension of this approach to larger machines in order to examine which rf methods promise to furnish strong additional heating of the plasma.
