Description

This book is the second of a three-volume work on solvation. Part A dealt with the theory of solvation; Part B is entirely devoted to spectroscopy of solvation. The volume comprehends vibrational, electronic, nuclear magnetic resonance, microwave and ultrasonic absorption spectroscopy, as well as X-ray, electron, and neutron diffraction. The bias of the volume is - like that of Part A - towards the physics and chemical physics of solvation. Nevertheless, the treatment of the present volume will reveal that spectroscopic solvation phenomena appear to have a closer association with chemistry than many of the topics in Part A. (Auth.)
