Machining effect on the strength of oxide ceramics
- 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev. Inst. Problem Prochnosti
Description
Presented are the results of experimental investigations on the effect of fine finishing procedures and diamond tool flexural strength and heat resistance of ceramic specimens on the base of aluminium and yttrium oxides. It is shown, that strength of the specimens finished by a diamond tool, can be twice as high as the strength of the nonfinished ones. It is stated, that granularity of the tool, applied for finishing, produces stronger effect on the peculiarities of the material behaviour under loading, than the parameters of the procedure
