Identical mT-spectra of π and η

Description

The structure of π0, η transverse spectra in the collision of Ar + Ca is analyzed in the framework of QGSM (quark gluon string model), using the representation (1/mT2)dσ/dmT vs mT. In this representation it is found that the mT spectra of produced hadrons in both proton - nucleus and nucleus - nucleus collisions at E/A ≥ 1 GeV are approximately identical. This suggests a common mechanism of building-up the transverse mass for produced particles. Existing experimental data at E/A = 1 and 1.5 GeV have similar features to those found in QGSM.
