Description

In order to meet the measurement of α, β, γ radioactive contamination in irradiated environments such as nuclear power plant operation, isotope production, and radiation therapy, a handheld multifunctional radiation monitor was designed in this study. It consists of scintillator, photomultiplier tube, GM counter, etc. The diameter of measurement window of detector is 30 mm, which can be used to measure α, β radioactive pollution. At the same time, the built-in G-M counter tube can correct a and β radioactive errors caused by γ. After experimental verification, the relative measurement error for γ measurement by G-M counter is 9.432%. he detection efficiency for α is 32.02%, the detection efficiency for β is 32.33%. the results show that α, β, γ detection is good for the multifunctional radiation monitor designed in this study.
