Description

The author surveyed the results of American and European opinion research about nuclear power generation around one year after the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant accident and analyzed current public opinion trends toward nuclear power generation in the US and Europe. It was found that the percentage of Americans who had a positive attitude towards nuclear power generation had decreased just after the accident. However, the percentage of Americans who supported nuclear power generation slightly recovered one year after the accident. Among people in the UK, it was found that the positive attitude held towards nuclear power plants which had decreased after the accident, increased one year later. (author)
