Description

Deep tillage (broke plough pan) and cultivation before winter coming (cut off some roots in shallow soil layer)could obviously affect the mass root activity of wheat and it's spatial distribution. Deep tillage improved the physical and chemical properties of the soil, so was the root living condition. Comparison with the CK (conventional tillage), the spatial distribution of root activity intend to deepen and the root activity in deep soil layer was stronger with the soil of deep tillage, which was beneficial to delay the senescence of plant and increase grain yield. It was also found that cultivation before winter coming could improve the mass root activity in subsoil layer (below 20 cm), and its effect was the same as that of deep tillage
