Containing vessel for fuel assembly

Description

The vessel for containing and transporting fuel assemblies is of a hollow cylindrical shape and divided into two parts of a lower vessel and an upper lid. Fuel assemblies are arranged in parallel on a bed in the lower vessel. A CCD camera (TV camera) and a LED illumination device are disposed to the bed at a position opposing to an indication portion such as identification numbers impressed on the fuel assembly. In addition, a probe (radiation sensor) is disposed to the bed at a portion opposing to fuel rods of the fuel assembly for measuring radiation rays from a lower side of the bed. Outputs of the CCD camera and the radiation ray detecting probe are taken out to the outside by way of a water proof connector. With such a constitution, the indication portion such as identification numbers of the fuel assembly contained therein can be confirmed and radiation dose can be measured without opening the upper lid.
