Study on the molybdenum nucleus structure by the method of α-particle diffraction scattering

Description

The collective states of 92Mo and 100Mo nuclei, excited in inelastic scattering of α particles, were investigated. The measurements of the angular distribution of α particles were carried out on a cyclotron at α particle energies of 38+-0.5 MeV. The experimental data were analyzed within the framework of the strong absorption model by the method of complex angular momenta and by the phase shift method. A new collective level of a 100Mo nucleus was found, and its spin and parity Isup(π)=3- were determined. The formation parameters, as well as the interaction radius and the nucleus surface thickness, were found. The magnitude of the effect of nonoriented nuclei, which consists in additional spreading of the boundary of a nonspherical nucleus (it was found to be approximately 5% for heavy nuclei) was calculated. The isotopic effect for molybdenum nuclei was studied, which proved to be much stronger than for nickel isotopes
