More on the classical symmetries of the closed bosonic p-branes

Description
The class of diffeomorphisms which leave the lagrangian as well as the action of the closed bosonic p-branes invariant is found, and their Lie algebraic structure is studied. In the case of the p-branes (p ≥ 2) as well as for the strings the corresponding infinite-dimensional Lie algebra contains the Witt algebra (Virasoro algebra without central charge) as a subalgebra.
