Spectrophotometric investigation of reaction between chloride, nitrate, sulfate complexes of cerium (3) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide

  • 1. Irkutskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

The complex formation between chloride, nitrate, sulphate complexes of cerium(3) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide has been examined. Soluble ternary complexes are formed in alkaline media (pH 10-11) which absorb in the UV region of the spectrum. The real detection limit decreases by the factor of 5 compared with the values obtained in the determination of cerium(3) in the form of binary chloride, nitrate, and sulphate complexes in acid solutions
