Description
Objective: To analyze the relationship of the imaging findings of intervertebral discs in vertebral disease on X-Ray radiography and MR images and to improve the understanding of X-ray. Methods: 41 cases of vertebral disease underwent X-ray and MRI examination in our hospital were collected. All patients aged from 5 to 82 years and average age was 49.3 years. Results: In vertebral diseases, type I, type II and type IV discs on MRI mainly show normal disc space as well as a few narrow disc space on radiography. Type III and type V discs on MRI mainly show narrowing disc space. Conclusion: In vertebral diseases, the disc space on radiography can reflect, to some extent but not entirely, the change of intervertebral discs on MR images. (authors)
