Frequency-sweep ESR spectrometer for dosimetry and dating

  • 1. Micro Device Co., Tokyo (Japan)
  • 2. Osaka Univ., Toyonaka (Japan). Dept. of Physics

Description

A new ESR spectrometer with a fixed magnetic field and frequency sweep has been manufactured for dosimetry and dating. The system consists of a permanent magnet of NdBFe (Neomax, Sumitomo Special Steel Co.), a Gunn diode, and a special cavity with a 100 kHz modulation coil. The resonance frequency of the cavity is changed simultaneously with the microwave frequency. A typical result of ESR dosimetry is demonstrated using the commercial alanine dosimeter. (author)
