Characteristics of an LBL-type 20 keV-30A neutral-beam injector and neutral-beam injection into the GAMMA 6

  • 1. University of Tsukuba, Institute of Physics, Tsukuba, Ibaraki (Japan)

Description

An LBL-type 20 keV-30A neutral-beam injector has been constructed and obtained an 18 keV-20 A neutral beam. The area where the density of the source plasma was uniform within 10% was about 50% of the area of the beam extraction grid. The divergence of the beam was about 1.7°. The density distribution of the source plasma should be improved for obtaining an well focused larger current neutral beam. A 13keV-5A neutral beam was injected into a target plasma in the GAMMA 6 using the beam injector. The electron temperature of the target plasma increased more than 5eV. (author)
