Excitation transfer in a helium-hydrogen plasma

  • 1. Inst. Fiziki Sankt-Peterburgskogo Gosudarstvennogo Univ., Petergof (Russian Federation)

Description

The experiment on analysis of the mechanism of the excitation of atomic hydrogen in the helium plasma with negligible concentration of hydrogen is carried out. Intensities of spectral lines of atom helium and hydrogen, densities of metastable atoms He (23S1) and He (21S0) (absorption method) and densities metastable molecules (laser induced fluorescence method) are presented. It is shown that the excitation is caused by the excitation with the assistance of molecular helium metastable states as the energy donor
