Method to close rock cavities
Description
There is described a device allowing to close openings in rock (e.g. in case of storage facilities for radioactive waste in salt beds) by means of molten rock of the same composition in such a way that there will be possible almost equivalent values of density and lower permeabilities than in the solid rock. An elongated tubular shell is introduced into the cavity to be closed and through an inner tube running inside it gravel is supplied under pressure. A heating facility arranged between the tubes is heating up the gravel and the surrounding rock until gravel as well as rock will melt and restore the original ground formation. Es wird eine Vorrichtung beschrieben, die es ermoeglicht, Oeffnungen im Gestein (z.B. bei Lagerstaetten fuer radioaktiven Abfall in Salzstoecken) mit geschmolzenem Gestein gleicher Zusammensetzung so zu verschliessen, dass fast aequivalente Dichtewerte und geringere Durchlaessigkeiten als beim gewachsenen Gestein moeglich sind. Ein langgestrecktes Mantelrohr wird in den zu verschliessenden Hohlraum eingefuehrt und durch ein darin verlaufendes Innenrohr wird Kies unter Druck eingegeben. Eine zwischen den Rohren angeordnete Heizeinrichtung erhitzt den Kies und das umgebende Gestein bis sowohl Kies wie das Gestein schmelzen und so die urspruengliche Erdformation wieder herstellen.
