Low-threshold generation of harmonics and short-wavelength X-ray radiation in a laser plasma. 2. Multipeak generation

Description

Short-wavelength X-ray multipeak generation in plasma heated by long pulses of a freely generating CO2-laser at a low pump intensity (up to 10 GW/cm2), which has been previously revealed by the authors, is studies in more detail. It is shown that multipeak generation under optimal conditions provides a 10 times gain in short-wavelength X-ray radiation per one laser pulse owing to the presence of extra peaks in the X-ray signal
