Description
Space exploration, planning missions to the Moon and Mars raise questions on accompanied threats to human health and life, especially, on those that are related to ionizing radiation exposure. How to express radiation health risks? How to evaluate and quantify them? How to communicate the risks to space crew members, decision makers and the public? These are the questions in the focus of consolidated efforts of the international scientific community. So this article outlines various approaches for assessment of risks of adverse health effects due to radiation exposure in space.
