Use of ferritic steels in the design of fusion reactors
Description
In this paper, the authors discuss design-relevant properties of a number of ferritic/martensitic alloys for potential use as structural materials in fusion reactors. The generic term ferritic steels is used to describe ferritic, pearlitic, bainitic, and martensitic steels. The following issues are discussed: (1) liquid-metal compatibility; (2) high-temperature creep behavior; (3) neutron radiation effects; and (4) reduced activation
