Description
Consideration is being given to results of investigation into some properties of iodosodalite powders, prepared by low-temperature hydrothermal synthesis and to the effect of composition of reaction mixture on them. It is shown that single-phase iodosodalite powder crystallizes in the mixture 4.4 Na2O+1.0Al2O3+1.7SiO2 (2.0-4.0) NaI + (19-285)H2O at water content of less than 65 moles at 353 K; at water content of 65-138 moles the crystallization product is composed of two phases: iodosodalite and zeolite Na-A; at water content of above 138 moles the crystallization product is presented by single-phase powder of Na-A zeolite. The degree of sodalite structure occupation by sodium iodide grows with increase of sodium iodide amount in reaction mixture with other parameters being constant
