Solid-state reaction of organometallic aldehydes with primary optically active β-hydroxyamines

Description
The solid state reaction of crystalline ferrocnyl- and ruthenocenylaldehydes with optically active primary β-hydroxyamines at room temperature was studied. Carring out the reaction in the presence of K2CO3 increased essentially the yields of the products. The tautomeric equilibrium between imines and diastereomeric oxazolidines with the predominant formation of one of them settled in the CFCl3 solution of the obtained products
