On the mechanism of refractory metal embrittlement under neutron irradiation

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev. Inst. Metallofiziki

Description

The effect of high-heat treatment and neutron irradiation on microcracks in molybdenum and tungsten single crystals is investigated. The neutron irradiation is shown to result in opening of the cracks existing in a crystal which might be one of the reasons of radiation-induced embrittlement of reactor materials
