Device for measurement and optical representation of selected parts of the pulse-height energy spectrum of the radiation emitted by radioactive decays of a radioactive source
Description
The pulses (e.g. 137Cs/sup(137m)Ba source) lying within the energy window of the differential discriminator applied in each case produce a trace on the screen of the cathode ray tube. Its amplitude is proportional to the pulse heights whose integrated brightness is proportional to the number of deflection processes and thus proportional to the count rate of the selected pulses. In this manner only a pre-determinable section of the energy range of the spectrum is represented on the screen. (RW)

Fuer die Impulse (z.B. 137Cs-sup(137m)Ba-Quelle), die innerhalb des Energiefensters des jeweils verwendeten Differentialdiskriminators fallen, wird eine Spur auf dem Bildschirm der Kathodenstrahlroehre erzeugt. Ihre Amplitude ist proportional zu den Impulshoehen und deren summierte Helligkeit proportional zur Anzahl der Ablenkvorgaenge und damit proportional zur Zaehlrate der ausgewaehlten Impulse. Auf diese Weise wird nur ein vorherbestimmbarer Ausschnitt aus dem Energiebereich des Spektrums auf dem Bildschirm zur Darstellung gebracht. (RW)Files
