Development of cobalt-based amorphous core and comparison with FINEMET

Description
We have developed a cobalt-based amorphous core for the loaded RF cavity. Because of its low-Q value of 0.5 and high-permeability with 1.5 times higher value than the value of FINEMET FT-3M. This amorphous core is thus an excellent candidate for achieving a high impedance cavity with low power consumption. Several measurements were taken with small size cores in order to understand its feasibility and stability. Based on this test results, the actual large size cores were then manufactured to use in a newly developed acceleration cavity. (author)
