Description

A prototype multicusp H- ion source has been developed at RRCAT, Indore. The ion source was designed to deliver H- ion current of 30 mA at 50 keV energy. Radiological status around ion source was evaluated in detail on different operating parameters of the ion source. The X-rays streaming through viewing glass window was detected. The details of the measurement are reported along with the recommendation to ensure personnel radiation safety while operation of the ion source. (author)
