Crack growth and high temperature thermal stability of INCONEL alloy 725

  • 1. Special Metals Corp., Huntington, WV (United States)

Description

This paper presents thermal stability data for alloy 725 at 593 C and 704 C up to 10000 hours. Specimens exposed at these temperatures were subjected to room temperature and high temperature tensile tests. The microstructure of tested specimens was analyzed by optical, scanning electron, and transmission electron microscopy. Additionally, creep crack growth rate of alloy 725 is compared with alloys 706 and 718 at 538 C and 649 C. (orig.)
