Thermodynamic description of nuclear demagnetization experiments
Description
In order to describe the process of nuclear demagnetization including the temperature measurement, thermodynamic field equations for the energies of both the electrons and the nuclear spins and for the heat flux have been derived. The numerical solutions of these field equations for appropriate boundary and initial values are compared to the measured electronic temperatures in nuclear cooling experiments. (author)
