Report on the radiation situation in the Slovak Republic in 2010

  • 1. Slovak Health University, Bratislava (Slovakia)
  • 2. Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute, Bratislava (Slovakia)

Description

The results of radioactivity monitoring in the air and in other compartments of the environment in the Slovak Republic are reported. The first part of the report describes the structure and special tasks of the Slovak Radiation Monitoring Network and presents data on radionuclide concentrations and ionizing radiation dose rates collected by radiation monitoring groups. The second part of the report contains the results of the measurements of effluents from Slovak nuclear power plants and data of radioactivity in their vicinity. No increase in radiation was observed near the nuclear power stations in 2010. Fluctuations in the environmental background are ascribed to differences in the geological and topographic circumstances. (orig.)
