Changes in amplitude and phase of the diurnal variation of cosmic ray intensity

  • 1. Slovenska Akademia Vied, Kosice (Czechoslovakia). Ustav Experimentalnej Fyziky

Description

Changes are studied of amplitude and phase of the 24-hour periodicity of the cosmic ray intensity measured by neutron supermonitors at Lomnicky peak and Vostok. The dispersion of magnitude and direction of diurnal anisotropy is greater during disturbances in the magnetic field near the Earth and during solar flares. This dispersion is connected with changes of regular magnetic field direction near the Earth. (author)
