Integrated examination of enlarged cystic thyroids
Description
Using an integrated thyroid examination (clinical examination, radiology, scintigraphy and sonography) 209 patients out of 2.732 patients studied were found to have cysts of the thyroid. This study suggests that the best results are obtained by utelizing the sequential series of procedures described. In addition to the patients diagnosed to have thryoid cysts another 188 patients were found to have cyst-like structures be sonography. Conclusions concerning pathogenesis and therapy are discribed. Abstract (German)
Bei 2732 Untersuchungen konnten 209 Patienten abgegrenzt werden, bei denen mit der integrierten Schilddruesenuntersuchung (klinische Untersuchung, radiologische Untersuchung, Szintigraphie, Sonographie) Zysten nachgewiesen wurden. Die Synopsis dieser Untersuchungsmethoden zeigt, dass vor allem die stufenmaessige Durchfuehrung die besten Ergebnisse bringt. Neben diesen zystischen Prozessen konnten bei 188 Patienten im Sonogramm zystoide Muster nachgewiesen werden. Folgerungen fuer die Pathogenese und damit fuer die Therapie werden mitgeteilt.
