Patent
Metal fuel cladding tube for FBR type reactor
Description
A seamless tube comprising Zr or Zr alloy, or Ti or Ti alloy is lined by a mechanical bonding to at least a region corresponding to a metal fuel, in the inner side of the main body of a cladding tube main body comprising an Fe-base alloy or an Ni-base alloy. With such a constitution, inter-diffusion between the component of the cladding tube and the alloy component of fuels, or between the component of the cladding tube and fission products is suppressed, so that corrosion of the cladding tube is suppressed to increase the margin relative to the rupture of the cladding tube when fuel elements are overheated, thereby enabling to elongate the life time of the fuel elements.
