Effect of chemical state of tin-117m atoms on their decay probability
Creators
Description
Effect of the valent state of tin atoms on the radioactive decay probability by methods Δλ/λ and ΔI/I has been studied for isomer M4-transition in tin-117m nucleus. Both methods give consistent results: λ(SnC2O4x2H2O)-λ(SnO2)=+(7.5±1.5)x10-4xλ; I (solution Sn(II))-I (solution Sn(IV))=+(7.0±1.0)x10-4xI. The values of the effects measured correspond, according to our estimations, to decrease of total electron density in the tin nucleus by 90 a.u. at transition from tin (II) to tin (IV)
