New possibilities with new technology: the Adjustable Speed Hydro (ASH) generator

Generators with variable rotational speed can be the solution for the Norwegian power system. The technology is available and is already used abroad. As with all projects, investing in ASH must be based on economic profitability, where all advantages and disadvantages are considered, and on thorough techno-economic analyses.
