Employment of a self-made probe in galactography

Description

Objective: To discuss the usefulness of a self-made probe in galactography. Methods: 45 cases performed galactography with self-made probe and other 56 cases performed routine galactography were compared. The occurrence of pain and ductal injuries during galactography and the rate of satisfactory between the two groups were noted. Results: In the group using self-made probe, pain was revealed in 2 cases without ductal injuries and satisfactory galactography was performed in 43 cases. In the routine group, pain was revealed in 15 cases, with ductal injuries in 3 cases during galactography and satisfactory galactography was performed in 41 cases. Significant difference was found in the occurrence of pain and the rate of satisfactory galactorgraphy. Conclusion: Galactography with self-made probe can greatly lessen the appearance of pain and ductal injuries during galactography and increase the rate of satisfactory examination and diagnostic accuracy of galactography.
