Some features of ICR heating by a solenoidal antenna

  • 1. Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Division, Russian Academy of Sciences, pr. Akademika Lavrent'eva 11, Novosibirsk, 630090 (Russian Federation)

Description

A study is made of some characteristic features of ion cyclotron resonance (ICR) heating in plasma-based isotope separators. The effects associated with ion drift in the RF field of a solenoidal antenna are considered in the single-particle approximation. Estimates are obtained and numerical calculations are carried out for ICR heating in the case of a 'narrow' (ρ/r ∼ 1, where ρ is the ion gyroradius) plasma flow
