Behaviour of actinides in aqueous solutions

Creators

Description

Behaviour of different actinoid ions in reactions of oxidation, reduction, disproportionating and self-reduction is discussed. The complexing of actinoids is considered. Stability of actinoid complexes in solutions decreases in the series M(4)>M(3)(>=)M(6)>M(5). Stability constants are presented for different complexes with acetic acid, acetylacetone, N-oxyethyliminodiacetic acid, nitriletriacetic acid and ethylenediamine tetracetic acid, as well as the stability constants of chelates formed by three-valent actinoids with tenoyltrifluoracetone, benzoyltrifluoracetone and naphthalene-trifluoracetone. Lattice parameters of four-valent actinoid acetyl acetonates are given. Hydrolysis of the metal ions is considered; hydrolysis constants are given of three- and fourvalent actinoids. For the compound (UO2)2(OH)2Cl2(H2O)4 the structure and interatomic distances are reported. Redox-potentials of actinoids in aqueous solutions are given, and the potentials of M(2)/M(3) and M(3)/M(4) couples of different elements are compared
