The ways of optimizing the treatment for local rectal cancer

The treatment of the patients who were administered pre-operative multimodality treatment using two techniques was analyzed. In group 1, 18 patients were treated using open fields with intracavitary therapy on the first stage. In group 2, all 9 patients were administered 3-field treatment. In all patients from group 1 the tumor was transferred to an operable form.
