National Report on the implementation of Code of Conduct: The Guidance in Ethiopia

Radioactive sources are widely used for useful purposes in Ethiopia in medical, industrial, agricultural, research and educational applications. Significant improvements with respect to safety and security have been made in previous years but some accidents still occur and a highest possible level of safety and security of radioactive sources throughout their lifecycle should be designed. an overall brightest commencement and a very encouraging outset paved the way for the country to foster the use of radiation and nuclear technology and to protect the current and future generation from hazard taking the geo-political landscape of Ethiopia into account, to prevent terrorists from having access to the possession of radiation sources and to take meticulous steps to avoid any harms probably caused by wrong-doers. Hence, it is believed that it is a basic proclivity to assessing the progress made by the regulatory authority, evaluating the nature of challenges encountered in implementing the code of conducts would enable us to gain lessons from this very important conference.
