Changing structure of wear-resistant self-fluxing nickel alloys under heat treatment

Description

Annealed (1153 K, 4h, in vacuum) powders and non-annealed ones of the Ni-Cr-B-Si alloy and coatings made of them have been studied for their phase composition by the X-ray phase analysis. It is shown that properties of facings depend on the content of borides, carbides and silicides of the metals components in the powders. The concentration of these compounds being increased, the applied coatings possess higher porosity and hardness. Flashing proceeds at higher temperature. Annealing of powders induces decomposition of the γ-phase (solid solution on the nickel base)
