Description

Co-extraction behaviour of Cs and Na was investigated by 12-crown-4, 15-crown-5, 18-crown-6 and dibenzo-18-crown-6 as neutral macrocyclic ligands, trichloroacetate (TCA) as an anionic counter ion, and 1,2-dichloro-ethane as an organic solvent. The extractability of the cations steeply increased with an increase in LiTCA concentration. Unexpectedly the distribution ratio of the cations did not change in wide ranges of the concentration of the alkali metal salt. All procedures were performed in a thermostated room at 22 deg C.
