Nuclear - Fukushima needs foreign support

Creators

Description

As Tepco, the Fukushima's operator, had to face a number of contaminated water leakages during the summer 2013, this article briefly describes the issue of contaminated water storage (huge quantities of water are used to cool the reactors, and must be stored and decontaminated). AREVA already supplied a first water decontamination unit in 2011, and was then replaced by Toshiba. As French companies almost disappeared from the site, this article evokes the project and opportunity of a joint venture with a Japanese company which would result in a come back of the French technological know-how in the field of soil, metallic compound and concrete decontamination
