Engineering analysis and modeling working group

  • 1. Philadelphia Electric, PA (USA)

Description

The objectives of engineering analysis and modeling simulation are: (1) optimization of the cost of the design; (2) improvements in unit availability; (3) optimization of operation procedures; and (4) safety improvement. The recommendations of this group made to EPRI were as follows: (1) develop a validation data base for fossil modeling systems; (2) identify a small number of codes for fossil plant application; (3) develop guidelines and success stories for cost justification of modeling and simulation; (4) develop statistical uncertainty analysis techniques; and (5) start a program to look at ways to incorporate AI techniques into plant modeling and simulation
