Ion accelerator
Description
A ion accelerator aimed at obtaining nanosecond powerful ion beams is described. The aim of the invention is the increase of accelerator service life. The accelerator includes a high-voltage pulse generator, solenoid for creation of the longitudinal magnetic field, cathodes, a plasma source, ring electrodes of an anode unit, insulator, the system of conducting plates, insulating inserts, an additional high-voltage source. It is shown that presence of the longitudinal magnetic field and construction of the anode unit as two coaxial ring electrodes separated by the insulator and having the system of conducting plates with ribs facing to each other allows to increase accelerator service life up to 103-104
