Description

Electrocatalyst 57FePt@Pt/C is prepared using two-step electron beam (e-beam) irradiation. The formation of a core-shell-structured 57FePt@Pt/C catalyst is measured using X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy, and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Both fast reaction and simple process of e-beam irradiation are suitable application of mass production. In addition, the electrochemical performance of the 57FePt@Pt/C catalyst after acid washing is observed to be the same as the activity of the commercial Pt/C during oxygen reduction reaction, while minimizing Pt supplement.
