Description
Based on the semiclassical description of ion-atom collisions and reasoning with uncertainty relations, the possibility of pair creation due to formation of an intermediate neutral system is considered. It is shown from simple model calculations that a large momentum spread of the same order of magnitude as in the dynamically induced e+e- pair creation must be expected. (author)
