Radiation chemical transformations in polymers under synchrotron radiation and preparation of regular track membranes

Description

Radiation-chemical processes in films of polyethyleneterephthalate (PETP), propylenecarbonate (PC) and polyimide (PI), used for producing track membranes under effect of synchrotron radiation in the absorbed doses range from 0 to 120 J/cm2, were studied by the method of IR spectroscopy. It is ascertained that PETP irradiation by doses up to 80 J/cm2 gives rise to intensive oxidation of the polymer, while at higher doses destruction processes prevail. IR spectra of irradiated PC suggest formation of benzophenol fragment and monosubstituted phenyl groups. Under the same irradiation conditions no noticeable changes were pointed out for PI films

Abstract (Russian)

Методом ИК спектроскопии изучены радиационно-химические процессы в пленках полиэтилентерефталата (ПЭТФ), пропиленкарбоната (ПК) и полиимида (ПИ), используемых для получения трековых мембран, под действием синхротронного излучения в интервале поглощенных доз от 0 до 120 Дж/см2. Установлено, что при облучении ПЭТФ дозами до 80 Дж/см2 происходит интенсивное окисление полимера, а при более высоких дозах преобладают процессы деструкции. ИК спектры облученного ПК указывают на образование бензофенольного фрагмента и монозамещенных фенильных групп. В пленках ПИ при тех же условиях облучения заметных изменений не обнаружено
