Description
The LEP project, a large electron-positron collider with an ultimate energy of 130 GeV for each of the two beams and whose construction at CERN is now under consideration by the member states, is considered. Aspects examined include an appraisal of those areas of particle physics which it is hoped will be explored at the new high colliding energies and the design and construction of the machine. (UK)
