Lattice location of 169Er ions after implantation in Al at 7K measured by the Moessbauer effect of 169Tm

Description
Measurements are presented on the Moessbauer effect of 169Tm after implantation of 169Er ions in Al at 7K and 295K. The results indicate that the Tm ions have a strong tendency to trap vacancies if the sample is annealed between 100K and 300K, the region of 'stage III' annealing in classical radiation damage experiments.
