Rotational isovector Ksup(π) = 1+ mode in deformed nuclei
Description
Isovector quadrupole vibrations with Ksup(π) = 1+ are expected in the low-energy spectrum of deformed nuclei. The different effects which determine the energy and M1-transition probability are discussed within the framework of the random phase approximation. This mode of excitation is predicted at an energy ω = 66deltaAsup(-1/3) MeV and with B(M1up) = 0.027deltaAsup(4/3)(e(h/2π)/2mc)2. (orig.)
