Description
During the first physics run of the Tevatron Collider in 1987, the CDF small angle spectrometer was partially installed and proton-antiproton elastic scattering events at √s = 1800 GeV were recorded. A small sample of elastic events was collected in a special high β run. The t distribution in the four-momentum transfer range 0.13 < -t < 0.35 GeV2 can be fitted by the exponential exp (bt) with b = 15.8 ± 1.9 GeV-2. The design and physics goals of the whole system for the upcoming run are also described
